Solved! Looking for a laptop to play Sims 3 and multiple expansions on medium settings

I don't know anything about laptops or PCs, I've grown up with Macs and have never owned anything else. My dad sold my old 2010 MacBook pro which I played Sims 3 on (absolutely awfully, could barely play 10 minutes without crashing)

I'm saving up for something that I can play the Sims 3 somewhat well on. Medium settings is fine. I couldn't care less about the loading times, I'm used to them. I'm thinking of getting pets, ambitions, generations, island paradise (sorry, i know its awful but i've always loved it) supernatural, and university.

I don't know how much this sort of thing costs, but I think I could make up $1500 in a couple of months if I need to. I'm fine with waiting longer if that won't be enough.

​I don't really care what it is, I just need it to work. I'm assuming none of the current MacBooks will be able to do that, but if their is one, please let me know. If anyone could help me or give me a basic idea of what I'm looking for that'd be amazing.

The following Acer laptop with a core i5-8300H and GTX 1050 Ti for $600 (Black Friday sale) is way overkill for the Sims 3 and can play many of the the more modern demanding games at 1080p with medium settings with pretty good performance. It is a budget gaming laptop so don't expect high quality fit and finish compared to a MacBook.

Here's a less expensive version of the Acer laptop with a less power GTX 1050 for $520. It's around 20% to 25% less powerful than the GTX 1050 Ti, but it is still overkill for the Sims 3 (and Sims 4).
