Looking for a new Laptop $800 Max before taxes and shipping

This is an idea of a laptop I am looking at. Is this a good one or what else in that spec/price range would anyone recommend?

The HP Envy 15 ( Solid laptop for a little less money with stronger CPU and more ram.)

The only reason I added the HP is if you only need a good laptop for every day tasks -stuff that doesn't require a dedicated graphics card. (ie no high res photoshop or gaming on high settings).

General Use. Mostly trying to have it last longer and get more time out of it. I will use it for my masters in GIS as well as general use. Some gaming, but not intense, I built one for that. I know that I want no bigger than a 14" screen, 1TB HDD (I know ssd is amazing, I have one in my gaming pc, but don't want to worry about running out of room), 8 GB of RAM, i7, and an nvidia GPU. Not an AMD guy or want to use Intel's GPU.

Try and get a sagar laptop if you can. I have no idea what GIS is but they should have a laptop that is good for you.

I would say your best option is to ask the course tutors in the uni for recommendations as they will know what is best for you.

I know what I want and need. I am just asking if this Dell is a good computer or is there something else out there that someone would recommend. As I grew up I always heard Dell wasn't that great of a brand, but as I got older, I see them used in a lot of businesses and they seem to be good solid machines. Would I be making a mistake by buying this Dell?

Forget I said anything about that class. haha It that Dell good for that price or is there anything else out there with those specs for around that money?

The laptop is very good for the price. There are not many 14 inch laptops in the first place.
