Why specifically Asus?

You can purchase a Lenovo G510 directly from Lenovo that is a bit better for $549. It comes with a current generation core i3-4000M (the site state "MQ" but that is wrong) which is clocked at 2.4GHz. The Intel HD 4600 is about 30% - 35% more powerful than the Intel HD 4000. But it only comes with 4GB of RAM. For $609 you can get the G510 with a Core i5-4200M (2.5GHz base speed / 3.1GHz max). It also comes with a total of 8GB of RAM. That makes the extra $60 CAD a very good bargain. I would think a stick of 4GB RAM in Canada costs about $40 - $50. That means the upgrade to the Core i5 is only costing you $10 - $20.
