Hi am not to sure what's going on but I'll ask anyways.. Took my birds laptop to get it looked at he said he would restore it but couldn't find the product key code I think he said underneath as it was rubbed off so he installed new one and extra memory 2gb I think well then I started to get this ain't a genuine Microsoft product after about 30 days now its not working at all... Ripped off ye go back to shop not a option seen as I gave him to much on the phone... What's the best thing to do expect from lob it through the windows

When he installed a different version of windows did you have to pay for it? If so, they probably would have given you the new product key

If you paid for a new copy of windows, go back and ask for the product key. Where did you get the laptop originally? If it's an HP laptop for example you should be able to call them and prove you're the owner and they'll give you the product key (the one that's rubbed off of the sticker)

It sounds like what migh thave happened is the person you took it to reformatted/reinstalled windows, and then afterward realized that the product key sticker is illegible so he just gave it back :lol:

Ye asked him over phone for the product key and told him it's not a genuine windows he said he had put new one in but didn't have the product key so it's a cope I asked ye he said bring it back and I'll sort it.. no thank you.. It's only a Toshiba laptop about 4 years old good enough to watch movies on and look online but now it's trashed
