Want the best bang for my $400ish buck. not a student, general use, no gaming, work, some play + needs to handle Netflix/youtube. Any reccommendations?
Within your $400 (before tax) you can purchase the following Acer laptop for $350 with a Core i3-7100u, 4GB of RAM, 1TB Hard Drive, 1080p screen. Additionally, purchase a 4GB stick of RAM for $46 and install it yourself to get a total of 8GB of RAM.
Also, noticing macafee and added protection through the retailer itself being pushed at every retailer I visit. Doesn't Microsoft have its own antivirus protection already installed in their computers?
Microsoft's Defender antivirus comes with Windows 10. It's Ok. I personally use Norton Security Deluxe for all my home PC's, along with Defender. Another good choice is Avast anti-virus. Eventhough McAfee comes as crapware on a new PC, you don't have to enable it and you can uninstall it. I'd also suggest that you download the free version of MalwareBytes and run once a month.
