Hey everyone. I'm a student looking to purchase a Linux laptop which will mainly be used for programming and Web developement. I prefer to use Ubuntu. I already have a high spec pc so I'm not looking for any killer laptops, I am mainly looking to get this for portability.
I've set myself a budget of £200, however this may raise if I find something worth the little extra.
I don't mind if it isn't brand new but would prefer it to have been refurbished.
Google has told me to go with a used thinkpad but I would like some advice on other options and reliable sellers. Also if there is anything I should be aware of I'd appreciate it if youd let me know as I have read about hardware incompatibilities when it comes to running Linux.
Thanks I'm advance :D

Amazon.co.uk have some amazing certified refurbished deals on the thinkpads (Which are brilliant performance for the value). They come with Windows 10, but you could install Linux as a dualboot if you wanted or just Linux entirely.

Here are two I have picked out:

1# Lenovo ThinkPad T420 14.1inch - £249

+ 14 Inch 1366 x 768 Display
+ 2nd Gen Intel Core i5-2430M 2.4Ghz Dual-core (Sandy Bridge) with hyperthreading (two cores/four threads), 2.7Ghz boost (two cores), 3.0Ghz boost (one core).
+ 8GB's DDR3
+ 320 GB SATA Hard drive
+ Optical drive
+ Genuine Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

Honestly any laptop will work with at least 2GB memory. The Used thinkpads are incredible.
I'd look at your local "Craigslist" or Ebay and search for a used laptop.

Brilliant deals for a cheap, powerful but small laptop.

Hope this helps.
