So I've been considering getting a laptop for Christmas with the money I am getting from my family. My budget is around $800-$900, but I'd say under $1,000. The size I'm looking for is around 15', but I don't mind going for a little lower or more. Screen resolution doesn't really matter, and battery life doesn't really matter either because I mostly use it at home. I will be mainly using this laptop for gaming around medium settings at a decent enough framerate. I'm considering the following laptops.

Which one could be the best bang I can get for my buck? Thanks!

EDIT: I also wouldn't mind more suggestions either.

I would second the y510p (or y410p if 14" is your thing). As someone with the y410p, it has a lot of good stuff with decent build quality and under 1000. A lot of other laptops tend to sacrifice quite a bit once you get below 1000. Lenovo also is pretty good about warranties
If you prefer an IdeaPad Y510p with a quad core CPU, then order the $949 version directly from Lenovo. It has the i7-4700MQ and a 1920x1080 resolution screen. But it only comes with a single GT 750m graphics chip.

You can buy a 2nd GT 750m that goes into the ultrabay (where the DVD drive is) at a later date. The removable GT 750m can be bought separately from Lenovo for $230. Save the following link because it actually took around 20 minutes to find it.

Note very many games use 4 cores, but if you want a quad core laptop and the option to SLI the GT 750m later on, then the Y510p is a good option for under $1,000 before taxes.

Hm, well are there any other suggestions under $1,000 or just under $900? Wanna make sure before I go for the Lenovo. I might not have money over $900 and I wanna get the best bang for my buck.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. I'll settle for the IdeaPad y510p. Hopefully the dual cores wouldn't affect the performance so much.

The y510p should come with the i7-4700mq, which is a quad core cpu last i checked (it certainly says so on my y410p). And should have hyperthreading as well, if that's you're thing

Oh, I was talking about this one.
