Hello, im looking for a gaming laptop, to play World of Warcraft, Wildstar with pleasure - on high quality, high fps etc.

Budget: Up to 800£

I had my brothers laptop for about 2 months and it was awesome, Lenovo IdeaPad Y580.
And I was about to buy it, but its out of stock and Im a bit afraid to buy used ones.

http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/ideapad/y-series/y580/index.html

Im looking for something like this or a bit better but i dont know much about laptops so its hard to compare.

I would appreciate your help !

I mean you are just not helpful at all.

getting a stock laptop in the UK is pontless, they're over priced.
best bang for your buck in the UK comes from pcspecialist.co.uk
I'd recommend the optimus V 13.3 or 17.3 .
if you want a 15.6' model then the vortex VE or the cosmos II are all sound options
select your model and then reply here - I will walk you through your configurations that's the best for your money.

All of them look so awesome. Its hard to pick :D The 17.3" Optimus V or 15.6" Vortex IV LE

I was playing on 15.6" and I enjoyed it - but isn't 17.3 better for games? I mean its wider so It should be better? :p
If its better id like to pick Optimus, if Its not - i would pick Vortex :p

So as i wrote, everything close to Lenovo y580 or a bit better will satisfy me. If i can get a little bit better Laptop then this Lenovo y580 for less then 800£ I will take it ! :p

I just need Wildstar / WoW on high detalis to run very good.

(Its laptop for games, for a year max i guess - gonna buy a PC later (after a year or so)

if it were me I'd get the optimus V 17.3 - it gives you more room within your budget.
oh and this thing literally runs circles around the y580 - it's so much more powerful.

Ok, thanks for advice : )
And what will you put in there? I guess CPU i7, 8GB RAM, Graphic Card with 2GB RAM is a must?
I dont need a large 1TB HDD or something - Im gonna play mostly Wildstar / WoW and I dont keep "trash" on PC - so 500GB is enough for me i guess.
Same for the battery - like 99% will have the charger plugged so I dont need any special, or double ones.
Dont know what more :p

Should be okay right? : )
Hmm whats the difference between
I7 Quad core 2,5ghz 6mb / I7 Dual core 3,ghz 4mb ?~

Which one will be better, which one shall i pick ? :p

btw there is a note that it will took like 11-13 days to make it - will it be worth to pay that 39£ for 5day build time?
and another problem - im working everyday 8:00 - 17:00 so how it gonna be with delivery : /

sorry to bother you dude, I appreciate your help ! Thanks

The dual core is actually more expensive
quad core at present gives a small advantage in fps over dual core. In the future with core utilisation this advantage will increase...dramatically.
get the quad core. I personally have a little chuckle to myself when I see an I7 dual core, its just a waste.
Have a chat with the blokes on support, they're actually surprisingly nice chaps. I personally don't pay for build time but I don't know your situation.
Ask a trustworthy neighbour or a nearby friend to have it send to them? if you live in an apartment with a front desk for mail etc. that could also work?
if you're in university then in some they have parcel delivery outposts?
it's all good dude!

I'm also ordering this laptop, wanted to ask you if you thought WD black² dual drive is better?

And will the upgraded thermal paste take care of the over heating problem this laptop has I've read on some random review or is that false?

This might be a bit late in the day, but if you are still looking for a good laptop for WoW etc, I would take a look at Dino PC.com. I have just bought the Pegasus 17.3 with a GTX860 2gb, i7, 8g ram, 256 SSD + 1TB HDD, plus all the usual bells and whistles. Cost was £850 incl P&P. Took 2 weeks to build and be delivered. Excellent laptop, great graphics, more than enough for WoW/Blizz Games, like you thats what i stick too.

Prior to that i was using a Dell XPS 17, which was very good, but the FPS started to let it down, as the GFX WOW settings have increased over the last 2 years.

The DinoPC.com is the cheapest site ive found, for a decent machine.

Hope this helps

I wanted to know if there is anywhere in the US where you can buy a laptop similar to the one you listed at DinoPC.com as I have recently started my search for a gaming laptop that is also under $1000.

Thank you!
