I know the sims 3 is a poorly made game, but I can't stay away. I've narrowed it down to a few laptops and this is what I have. I've been told that for games, a dedicated graphics card is better but apparently Nvidia GeForce 940mx isn't the best? Is it better than having intel 620?

Someone who knows something about laptops tell me which one seems to be the best lol

Any laptop with the Intel HD 620 should be fine for playing the Sims 3 with max graphic settings at 1080p resolution. It is an old game that is not very demanding. However, the game is rather buggy from what my cousin have told me. It is recommended that the laptop have 8GB of RAM especially if the laptop has integrated graphics like the Intel HD 620 because it will use some of that RAM.

If you plan on playing the Sims 4 (or any other modern game), then I recommend you buy a laptop with the 940mx (or better) since it is a more graphically demanding game. The 940mx is definitely more powerful than the Intel HD 620, but it is not considered a "gaming" graphics chip. It's more of a budget / mainstream graphics chip.
