Looking for special headphones ^^

I am looking for headphones that would allow me to hear external sounds as I play music though them (i guess the reverse of noise-cancelling) I think i remember seeing articles about products like this or similar, but I just can seem to find them now. Has anyone heard of something like this?

I guess that I *could* just play my music not as loud... but i swear Ive read about headphones somewhere that actively amplify certain sounds around you (mostly in the range of human speech).
