Looking to buy a new "gaming" laptop. around 750

Looking to buy a laptop budget around 750$. I play a lot of games and do a lot of cad work. As far as games Pretty much everything from TF2-skyrim-guild wars 2.
I was given a laptop last year by my parents with out my input and my buddies laptop has turned to *** so going to sell it to him.
My only requirement is that it is not a Toshiba or Dell. I have never had luck with those brands.

As a side note. Is ivybridge a hell of a lot better than sandybridge

For 750$, the fastest you'll get is the HP dv4t-5100 with GT 650M GDDR5 + I5 and it's quite fast, currently:
