1. Is This Your First Time Buying A Tablet? Yes
2. Do you already have an operating system in mind? If so specify (iOS, Android, Windows Mobile, Windows RT, Windows 8, etc) --- My uses for the tablet are going to be mostly school related, so I was thinking Windows RT so I can have office but at the same time I'd like to run some windows applications that you'd need a full OS for. I wouldn't mind considering the android system either but like I said, I don't want to miss out on office even though they have office applications on the google play store. I want to be able to draw and write notes which you can do easily with windows from what I understand. I want to connect a keyboard as well eventually.
3. What screen size do you have in mind? And your preferred resolution.. 1920 x 1080? I would go lower if the price was right though...
4. Preferred Brand(s) - (ex. Microsoft, Samsung, Asus, Apple) None so far.. I'm not sure what's popular on the market especially for students.
5. Brands Not Preferred (specify why) (ex. Hannspree, Acer, etc.) Apple because I'm not a big iOS person.
6. How much do you want to spend on your tablet? Of course as little as possible for the most but I would like to stay at 300 or lower. I might consider going to 400 if the features are worth it.
7. Do you have cellular service? Or do you want the tablet to be WiFi only? WiFi
8. If you do have cellular service, who is your provider and how much data are you allowed per month?
9. Do you want the tablet to be a full laptop replacement? Yes and No.. I don't really want to pay for the full laptop replacement part of it..
10. What existing apps do you use? What do you intend to do with this tablet? Like I said before, I would like to have office especially for OneNote and plus I think I read that windows tablets are better for using a stylus. I'd like to make handwritten notes. I'm starting to use mindmaps and I found some really cool free software on my desktop to make them http/freemind.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Main_Page which is sort of why I wanted the full windows OS..but you can't have it all. There might be mindmap software on the windows store but from what I heard, it's very limited.
Thanks for the help! I always rely on Tom's Hardware for things like this.
EDIT: From what I see, there is mindmapping software on the Windows RT platform which kind of sways me towards Windows again.. but maybe you can show me the better way? or second my thoughts.
