1. What is your budget?
Variable but 3-4k probably

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
Willing to go anywhere from 15-18 but being able to run higher resoluion while gaming is the most important factor.

3. What screen resolution do you want?
4k,willing to go lower but would rather keep it above 1080p

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
Mixture of both. I will mainly be using this as a "lap" top in a room somewhere.

5. How much battery life do you need?
Not a huge concern. 4-6 hours minimum though

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop?
I would like to play all games at maxed out settings while keeping 45+FPS. I am willing to drop some settings by a level if it is the difference between 45+at 4k or not.

World of Warcraft
Diablo 3
Battlefield Hardline
Witcher 3

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)
Gaming is the priority but regular use such as internet browsing, watching movies, school work, etc.

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?
500GB SSD is the minimum if it matches all other aspects perfectly, however I would think that ~1TB SSD or more would be fine for most cases.

9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.
Would like to make the actual purchase from Newegg but I am willing to try another option if they would ship to an FPO.

10. How long do you want to keep your laptop?
2-4 years before upgrading

11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?
Most would be fine, not a very important deciding factor.

12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.
I prefer reputable brands such as MSI and the Asus RoG line. I have had laptops from both of these and have also looked into Alienware, Falcon Northwest, and other options.

13. What country do you live in?
Currently in Japan so I need a source that ships to FPOs. I can always get something shipped to US and then mailed to me but would prefer getting it mailed directly to me.

14. Please tell us any additional information if needed.
My end goal is being able to play the majority of current generation games at near maximum settings as close as possible to 4k resolution while maintaining 45+ FPS.

UPDATE: I have looked around and my top two picks as of now are these two:

MSI GT72 Dominator Pro
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152687&ignorebbr=1

And

MSI GT80 Titan
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152706

Both are showing as the exact same price but the GT80 has twice the GPU power. The screen on the GT72 may alsobe IPS, would this be a significant bonus over a TN screen?

Any reason why I should take the GT72 over the Titan?

I looked at the Razer models myself especially since they have one that runs at 4k but I feel like the graphics card is too weak. I run 4k on my desktop and the differencefrom the 4k to 1080p on my laptop is highly noticeable when playing games.

The problem is most gaming laptops won't run at 4k, and this laptop is one of the better gaming laptops. The Razer Blade has a pretty good GPU if you run stuff at 1440p. It will play all the games you want to play at high frame rates.

Another great gaming laptop would be something like this:

That looks like an interesting laptop but i'm not sure if the GPU will be strong enough either. The 15 inch screen is a bit smaller than the 18inch I urently use, would the loss be worth it?

I think it would, this laptop looks quite good although it is expensive. Maybe look around on some more websites and see if you can find a 18 inch screen gaming laptop which supports 4k and has good specs.

I did like the titan but it's a shame it's only 1080p.

Yeah, most of the good laptop do 1440p or 1080p but don't do 4k very well. I would say, get a good gaming laptop that does 1440p or 3k on an 18 inch screen (if you want 18 inch). That means you get better fps because you're not running at 4k and you still get over 1080p resolution.

Hope this helps!

I think some of these nice Asus laptops can run 1440p:
