Looking to upgrade laptop finally

Would this feel like a worthwhile upgrade to you?

I'm currently playing on an alienware m14x specs are

i7 3610qm
GT 650M
8GB RAM

Looking to upgrade to a cheap gaming laptop on a black friday deal that has these specs

i5 7200U
GTX 950M
12GB RAM

Price would be $620 + tax. Really don't have too much more to spend. I only play civilization 6.

How does Civ 6 run on your current computer?

It runs the game "decently" when I play in strategic mode, which is 2D glory! If I try to play the game as it was intended to be played, it chuggs very heavily.

Processor wise I'm golden. The game actually in terms of turn change and map loading it utilizes all 8 threads. But very minimally after the 4th one. However the 650m really bogs me down.

The GTX 950M would be a big upgrade over the 650M, but you'll be sacrificing cores. I think the upgrade would be worth it for the graphical boost you'd get which seems like it would be a priority for you.
