Loss of audio from Dish Network Box

I purchased Onkyo 747 7 channel rec/amp. In a short time, there was a loss of audio from the video. It first started with the DVR then went to regular programing. I returned the unit and hooked up my old ONKYO 5.1 channel system. Everything works fine.
My question is this : Has this problem been addressed by ONKYO and does this problem exist with other company 7 channel rec/amp units?
 
I think similar question was asked couple of days ago.


I have similar problem with 646 and Dish Network 722k DVR when skipping forward / backward - once in a while, sounds mutes. Switching back to Live TV, changing channel, and waiting couple of seconds resolve this. But this only started with latest DVD firmware (don't start me there..)
 


 
As I stated I sent the unit I brought from Amazon back within the 30 day window. I have yet to find a solution to this
problem. I have read on ONKYO site where they are aware of the issue but not No Fix. Tom stated that the rec/amp
have audio/video sync adjustment. I have never heard of that being the fix.
My present question is this, ' Are the other companies having the same problem with Dish Network'?
