Loud hum from Bose Cinemate 15 home theater system

I have had this system for one month. I has now developed a loud hum from the sound bar and the base unit.

Most likely you are getting low frequency feedback from the unit and analog input source having different AC lines. Your best bet is to try using digital optical input or HDMI.

I don't think that system has optical input. I'm going to call Bose tomorrow. The TV sound is good enough for regular programming. The sound from DVDs and NetFlix seems to be the problem and my wife and I are somewhat hard of hearing, hence the Bose system.

DVDs through what? HDMI? analog cables?

First, just make sure ALL analog components are connected to the same surge protector. Only deal with Bose once you know it's not your (direct) fault
