Low budget flat screen

Solution
Well it could be the display, the ribbon cable that connects it or the graphics care/GPU.

Try turning off the laptop and connect an external monitor. Then turn on the external monitor and finally turn on the laptop.

Can you see on the external monitors screen? If yes, then you need to look at the attached display and the ribbon cable that connects it.

If you still can't see anything, even on the external monitor, then it is probably the graphics care/GPU, and may well need the motherboard replaced.

NOTE: If the laptop is under warranty still, do not open it up yourself or take it to just anyone. First contact the manufacturer about a repair or replacement.
