low frame rates on 1050ti laptop screen, but better when connected to monitor.

I bought the dell inspiron 7567 laptop, with the i5 processor and 1050ti graphics card along with 256gb ssd, i was getting very good frame rates at first, few months later, it became extremely bad, i never noticed it and thought it was my laptop's limit, until i connected it to a monitor, i was getting 50 fps on medium setting in paladins when i just used the laptop screen for playing, then when connected to a monitor i used to get 110 fps on max settings, its the same situation every game. I reset my laptop once and it came back to normal with high frame rates on the screen, few days later again the same problem persists. Is there setting that i could use or anything i could do to fix it. I did notice one thing though my gpu is at 30 percent sometimes and cpu goes all they way to a 100%, but my i5 is no where close to bottlenecking the 1050ti right. PLS help. thank you!!

Are the two displays the same resolution?

Yup both of them are 1080p 60hz displays. Only screen size is different
