my lumia 820 fell out of pocket and landed in water. I have dried it with a hair dryer and it booted up once but soon shut down and now it was died. Any suggestions? I do have an extra battery from mpj which I've heard would add a little power. Should I try the new now or leave the phone in a bag of rice first?? And I have insurance on my phone, can I get a replacement phone?

Solution
1st thing dont switch it on
then separate each and every part and keep it to dry
take out battery , sim , backcover and whatever that can be removed
then if you have hair drier then dry them with it
and make sure not a single drop of water is there evev deep inside
atleast keep it open for 4-6 hours
u think its ok for an hour but not a drop should remain inside
now when if ur phone is dry then try switching it on
it will work
if any problem arises contact me or nearby service centre
