I believe you tried to be ironic .. just in case u weren't, formula 1 cars are designed to NOT stay in one piece if they crash. I suggest u research the subject since it's quite interesting, that is if you were not ironic.
 
looks neat but won't work! The real future of mass transit at this point is high speed rail... all the speed of a plain with out the issues like weather and the fuel consumption on take off and landing.

-How about an upset/pothole in the road larger than 7cm @ 130MPH
-How about more than one tire per side on the front so one flat tire @ 130 doesn't cause catastrophe
-How about maneuverability in the city
-How about downtime required to recharge the batteries
-How about windshield wipers😉
-How about total travel distance @ 130MPH before the batteries run out

It does look awesome though

SOME countries have no speed limits on certain sections of their highways and well maintained roads as well. I believe Switzerland is one of these places.
 
Public transit is only an option when the increased amount of commuting time is negligible. For example, if I take the train to work, it takes about 45 minutes for me which is about the same as driving (I live a block from a station and work less than a block from another).

Of course the train is vastly cheaper, but its also packed to the point of having to wait in line while missing the first few. Not to mention having to stand while squished in for 45 minutes.

I actually do take the train though, its around $3 / day vs $10 for parking + gas (we can all have cheap gas like Americans) + $200 / month insurance + maintenance + purchase cost.
 
The wheelbase looks just too long on that thing, but if the total length is under 45 feet, it could still cut it in city traffic.

What they should have done was take an old Prevost H45-60 with it's double-axle front steering and articulated center to use as a platform for a new aerodynamic super bus. Now THAT would have looked awesome.
 
"high-density urban locales", I don't think so. I wouldn't want a car going 130mph in Urban areas.

If it was 130MPG superbus, that would have been way cool.

If it was managing to burn that much gas (considering its 100% electric), that would be impressive.
 
Can't believe people are so negative towards this. I say go ahead, even if i doesn't make it there are probably going to be peices of the technology that will make it to regular public transport.

Also, people saying what happens if you hit a jaywalker or pothole at 130mph. I imagine it wouldn't be doing that in the city and if you have pot holes or jaywalkers on your motorway/highway, your already in trouble.
