Male coax input

The coax on the back of my tv is male. What is the best tv antenna to use to get over the air channels. Even with the adaptor I can not get any signal to pick up channels.

A "male" coax would have a wire sticking out of the center of the connector. TVs would typically have a female "F" fitting.
