I used Avast so far, for continous protection, and once a month i ran a Malwarebytes Anti Malware. My friend suggested, that i should upgrade my Malwarebytes to premium for better protection, and i did that. My question is that, should i delete Avast now? Malwarebytes run-time protection is good enough?

MalwareBytes runtime protection is good enough. If you're desperate to speed your machine up, you can get by without Avast. MalwareBytes is lighter weight than most other AV software, which makes it ideal for at least moderate protection.

In my opinion, AV protection is two fold. Software can watch for suspicious activity under the surface, but it's also partially on the user to not be stupid and expose themselves to blatant threats.
