Good parenting skills, what happened? did they skip the part of "don't cross the street without looking, don't take pictures of yourself naked and send them over"
I the pedophile should burn in hell, and the parents... well some where less hot...

[citation][nom]xophaser[/nom]the guy was from "Polk City" wow. These people(especially this guy) are sick and need to be in jail. There is no way to try to flip this story. People that are blaming the kid/parents are basically denying any wrong doing with this guy aka defend him and are in the same boat.[/citation]

We don't defend him, we just couldn't care less. You can't protect people from themselves. And the kid wasn't raped or anything, he took the pictures of himself. The state could even prosecute the kid for making child porn if they wanted to.

IMO microsoft should have better measures in place. The parents are responsible for the most part because they shouldn't let their child be online period without supervision. My son's live account was monitored by me all the time.. however i still was evolved with the games and people he was playing with... But this is a paid service and I feel that microsoft could do a lot more to protect kids in general... as for the freak predator.. he should suffer... and im sure he will.. in one way or another.

You know it's a bad situation when the kid gets payed in Microsoft space bucks. Poor kid got manipulated, and than bastard will probably get out of jail in 5 years and do something like that again. I'm all for the rehabilitation of sex offenders, I really have hope, but 9 times out of 0 it doesn't work.

The guy is def wrong, no doubt about it, but so are the parents, it is their responsibility to monitor what their kids do, especially online, so yes they are to blame as well.

Such a bizarre thought process.

[citation][nom]eddieroolz[/nom]I admit I'm clueless about XBL, but why is there even an option to send photos? How else is this feature used?[/citation]

[citation][nom]notyetrated[/nom]I don't know about you guys but a naked picture is a small price to pay for some quality clan gaming time.... ....[/citation]

More like it's the parents that get stupider and/or lazier every year.

I am a firm believer in limited gaming interaction with adults for my kids, put the sick and depraved pedophile issue aside for a moment, look at the way adults game, trash talk is very common place even though it is in violation of the tos of live, young children are very impressionable, a regular routine of trash talk from an adult could cause some serious mental health issues, live has no place for children in its current state in my opinion, they let you choose your gamer style recreation, underground etc. but then lump you in with the general population, until they separate the men from the boys per se, there will be many more issues to come. It's the same as a seven year old having a face book account(virus plagued waste of bandwidth social disease of the interwebs) So the question here is, who is to blame? I feel all parties involved, Starting at the parental level, live is a subscription for gaming interaction not baby sitting fees. Micro$oft for placing profit as their number one above human life, do they care or have any concern about this kid? only if it makes a buck. We as a society must take blame for the over stimulated social networking that has become a norm. And the #1 slot is for the offender, even in a diminished mental state we all know right from wrong no matter how strong our compulsion's are. He will be punished all though the sentence probably wont fit the crime. Where is Chris Hansen when you need him?

Why would a kid even go along with that? For all the "bad parenting" talk, I didn't have a father figure other than the alcoholic neighbor guy that was always around, and I couldn't imagine thinking that was anywhere near acceptable even at 10.

No wonder kids need constant supervision and can't be allowed to run loose outside, they're retarded.

lets be fair here, parents cant monitor their kids all the time. reality is technology advanced to a level that stuff like that is not preventable and the only way to at least tackle it is through early education. When i was a wee child i remember teachers warning us to not talk to strangers. Same thing should be said about internet and use of cameras. Secondly, if you cant live with the fact that all kids at some point will photograph themselves naked and share it, then simply dont have kids. Its unrealistic to think otherwise nowadays.

I don't understand why people are blaming M$ for this. They have Parental Controls parents can take the time to set up if they weren't lazy. How are the supposed to protect the kids? Monitor every file sent through their network? Tap into personal conversations done over XBL?

Sure they are trying to make a buck, they are a corporation, that is what they do. I don't think they can be blamed for supplying a medium that people abuse. Do you blame the internet for piracy because it allows bittorrent streams?
