buy your own dam computer! I haven't been without a computer since 1989. I havn't been without a laptop since circa 2000. The first brand new computer I bought cost me $1400.00 and that was circa 1990-1991. That was over 2months pay back then. It didn't come with a monitor either.

Libraries will have to put the computers in such a way that no one but the one surfing can see what is going on the tube/monitor. However I can just see the little old 80 year old librarian asking the 18 year old horny boy what he is going to view on the computer before checking him in on one. LOL NOW THAT WOULD BE FUNNY!

Sure you can put up filters, but the sheer number of sites makes it really difficult, and besides, you'd have to get someone to go to these sites to find them to block.
And Libraries, a lot of the information you had before is now online, though there are still many many MANY books not scanned (something Google was hoping to help). The librarians are themselves a resource on how to find information, not everyone's Google-Fu is great.
Most of the libraries I know of hold events, book readings, school and child education events too. I think they are still very useful if for a public resource and access to the internet for many people who can't afford a computer in a world where more and more is done over the internet.

I love how spoiled upper middle class people love to show how completely ignorant they are of the real world and what money is really worth to a poor family.
