[citation][nom]maxiim[/nom]Modern Warfare 2 has 120k users playing at almost all times. 90% of those users are kids. That should tell you something about the other 10%. Its why I like to stick to PC gaming.[/citation]

Yep that's why you have to be 17 to buy a game that's rated M. Because it's just a suggestion.

On the topic of kids playing M rated games... I could care less if you do. Except when I play online. I don't mind so much if the online game is rated T or E. However, if it's rated M, I expect to be playing with mature people. So when I hear someone on the headset or in voice chat with an obviously prepubescent voice spewing fart jokes or immature taunts, it gets on my nerves. And this happens so often that it's just become habit that I mute everyone when I play a game like Halo 3 online.

Honestly, it's not fun to listen to, and your age is glaringly obvious. Either turn off the mic or (even better) get off the game.

Is this post a joke?? If the guy really did this, how could the bail only be 25000 dollars??
Anyway, I dont think it is fair to criticize the parents so much. If they were remiss in anything, I would say it is more for not emphasizing proper use of the internet and maintaining their privacy than in letting a 13 year old play call of duty. My grandson is in junior high, gets good grades, and plays COD, as do most of his friends. And as others have posted, this incident could have occured in any online environment. What game they were playing is irrelevant.

[citation][nom]the_krasno[/nom]That is what happens when a fucking 13 year old gets a game rated for adults. ADULTS.Why are they playing that?![/citation]
its not a 13 year old game, it is a game for adults, not kids. tell me how war, shooting people, setting them on fire and knifing them qualifies as a kids game. dumb ass parents should stop buying this for their kids.

The M rating of this game is completely irrelevant to the story. I can't believe so many people are mentioning it.

[citation][nom]twisted politiks[/nom]Ok this is horrible, and a disturbing way to gain access to illegal photos. But to all of you who say that 13 year olds shouldn't be playing a game rated M, give me a break. Not only did you play games like that when you were a kid, it's mostly harmless. I understand that if the child cannot handle a Mature rated game, they shouldn't be allowed to play, but that is up to the parents, and if the parents feel they are mature enough to play, then they should be allowed to play. This could have just as easily of happened on another game, like that new one on the Wii that hunts monsters. I know people are going to give me thumbs down for speaking my mind, but I hate when people act like hypocrites and try to be "adult" and say younger kids shouldn't play video games just because they have an M labeled on it.[/citation]
But...problem is...many parents these days don't give a hoot cuz they think "oh it's a game it must be for kids...

[citation][nom]Clintonio[/nom]Molesting fucks someone up for life, it's very hard to recover. Murder doesn't leave the victim miserable. It's not about the action, but the consequences to the victim.[/citation]

You got it completely wrong there. Is it not about the action? Only because there are consequences? So, if somebody kills a person who has none else in this world, because there are no consequences to the rest of the world, he should not be punished?

And also, no consequences to the dead victim? Are you serious? What about the victim's family? What about his friends? Are there no consequences there?

Why was the boys playing Call of Duty ? Crappy Parents? They are too young for this game.

Kids should not use chat, or live unless they only chat with friends, and it needs to be limited so they can't add other friends etc with parents concent.

Also, I think to use live, doesn't it require you to be over a certain age?

This is why I cuss loudly and frequently in the M-Rated games I play on Xbox Live so their mom's hear and tell them they can't play that game anymore. "Johnny, What did your TV just say?!"

It's sad to see not only have perverted people invaded chatrooms and have ruined them (Yahoo chats anyone?) but now even gaming is just another platform for them to target kids. This isn't exactly new either.

When the Sims Online was up and running I remember a case of a 12 year old girl pimping herself out to pervs online (your sim avatar could have sex in the same manner as the other sims games)
and getting real cash for it. Funny thing about this was a psychiatrist found out about it reported it to EA and they banned him!

Also I heard cases of "games" (if you can call them that) like second life and similar games have a huge problem with this.
This is why you must educate your kids these days about such things not only in real life events but online as well.
