[citation][nom]bikeracer4487[/nom]So I just went onto IMDB to look at the voice actors for ME1[/citation]

They haven't started casting yet. What you found was the Video Game cast. Note the "VG" in the page. Do another search and you'll see one dated 2012 that's in production with VERY little details so far. That's the right page to look at.

Sorry, I meant I was looking at the cast of voice actors for ME1...I just wanted to take a look and see if any of them might be suitable for the movie.

I agree that this would be a great movie, and they should continue working on the halo movie as well. Those are two good universes that deserve to come to the "big screen". But there is another even more deserving.

I admit it will be hard to pull off, but I wish blizzard would turn Diablo into a series. (I said series, not movie) The first would obviously be the start of the Sin wars, the plan for the stones, binding them to the stones, etc. Not sure how Diablo one would fit in, probably best as the start of the second movie with the first act or two of Diablo 2 to finish. "Finish" the third movie with the end of Diablo 2, would be nice to see the breaking of the world stone in Imax/3D/big screen. They could easily turn out three movies that would make tons of money, all they have to do is make them.

Actually, this brings up a good point...I'm operating on the assumption that they are making a movie out of the FIRST game, and not trying to combine the first two, or, god forbid, trying to do both games and invent a story for the third... Anyways, assuming that's correct, does this mean they intend to do the whole trilogy?

I would certainly hope so. My first thought was that this should be a trilogy even though they aren't saying it up front. If the first movie does well enough we should expect two more releases.

Invent a story for the third game in the movie would literally scrap all the decisions made in game, regarding sparing certain persons, how you helped someone, which romance you took, if any, etc.
Unless the story in the movie was completely neutral in relation to game decisions.

Helmed by the same company that brought us 300, Clash of the Titans, and Watchmen? No thanks, I'll take a lifelong pass on this one. Those movies are dumpster fare (except to weeny fanboiz, of course). The Dark Knight was alright though.

[citation][nom]Phate[/nom]I didn't realize until now that Mass Effect had the same plot as Star Control 3.[/citation]
Star Control 3? Is that a movie or what? Never heard of it...

[citation][nom]x3style[/nom]In any case let Commander Shepard be played by Milla Jovovich, redhead version. Who said Shepard was a man?!?![/citation]THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS!!! Fifth Element, Resident Evil, Ultraviolet. Yes please! I played Commander Shepard as a female character. I really connected with the storyline mostly because I absolutely love ST:Voyager and Captain Janeway! Dear God PLEASE LET IT BE A FEMALE SHEPARD!

I question your taste in movies.

One could argue that those movies, with the exception of Watchmen anyway, where more about effects than plot but there's nothing inherently wrong with that.

Anyway, my measuring stick for good movies based on computer games is Doom. If the Mass Effect movie can equal or top that I'm not worried.

Really? I think Dirtman73 is a bit ignorant, but Doom as a measuring stick? Unfortunately, there hasn't really BEEN a good video game adaptation, though I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Prince of Persia...and I didn't think Silent Hill was too bad...but Doom...yikes...

Consequently, looking at the "List of films based on video games" on wikipedia, I'm a bit more worried about this ME movie than I was before...they list the movies by name and also give the Rotten Tomatoes score...and the highest score so far is 51% by Prince of Persia...followed by Mortal Kombat and Silent Hill at 35% and 30%, respectively...most of the rest fall below 20%...doesn't look good...
