I have never used Megaupload. I found the ads to be intrusive and downright unsafe, worse than those generic porn sites if I do say so. Sure you can get adblock but with ads like that then what does that say about security. I 1000 times prefer mediafire.

[citation][nom]acadia11[/nom]I hope it's a pirate haven, shoe can flip off the studios.[/citation]

You realise piracy is one of the main reasons devs are shifting to consoles, right?
Even if it's a big company losing money to piracy, the actual devs will get hurt even more since their success depends on how much money the game made them.

If nobody pirated Skyrim we would definitely be seeing more DLC by now.

Dont speak of what you know nothing of!!!

To assume you would of made money off of something that was pirated is just a excuse or should I say to blame for poor products not selling well because of their lack ofquality.

Yeah, and there is no piracy on consoles right ??

Also do you know that Hollywood was created so that the movie produces didn't have to pay Edison the right to use his pattents on recording movement ??

And the position of Dot.com is obvious because RIAA and company don't use common sense and sue the provider, as if people sued car companies for all the run overs there are. Or you sue the knife company for every person that is stabbed by one of their knifes.

Common sense is the least common of all the senses

Games that DONT get milked and are of poor quality, who can you blame for wanting to "Pirate" it.

If you want to blame anyone, blame the masses of iditic nimrods who buy these crappy, poor quality F (Fail quality) games, music, and movies. If Dipshits keep buying low quality goods, they will continue to produce it (Look at mcdonalds, and all the other Crappy food products aswell)

There is a LOT more piracy on consoles than on PC, at least in my eyes. All you have to do is find the .iso or image of the game disc, crack your DVD drive in your xbox with a simple program, and load the game up. You can play online with the game as well, Halo 4 is already pirated and being played as we speak for the past week and Halo 4 isn't released until Nov. 6th.

You obviously have NO IDEA what you're talking about.

no, they are moveing to consoles because its easier to program for 1 than it is to program for everything.

piracy is a convenent excuse, not a fact.

piracy has been there from day one, and places that use to rent software also had floppy discs to sell to.

nah, piracy on consoles is harder, more involved, and a lower % than the pc, but you are right, with the 360 you can play online if you use the right things, something you cant to on a pc unless the game has been cracked 100%

You're an idiot. You can hack a PS3 or XBOX 360 to play burned copies. Your "theory" about why devs don't make PC games doesn't hold up.

maybe that's true for bigger companies, but piracy would destroy a company like mine with only a couple thousand purchases a year in a niche market. You can look at a lot of small businesses like this with software tools like mine that people pirate and it's truly crippling them.

Piracy is bad, period. It may not hurt big business as much as they whine about it, but it destroys small ones.

There is that. But still different from saying it's right to steal.

Fair prices reduce piracy. Developers are charging too much for games.
And how much do you want to bet that the games for the new consoles will be $69.99 each.
I think even $59.99 is too high, so for me to buy it, the game must be top quality A+ rating. Excellent reviews from critics keep you from waisting your money. Also, wait for the game to age and become a best seller before you buy the game I've paid $20 each for some of the best games and the games aren't any different I just didn't play them when everyone else was.

I think Torchlight and Torchlight 2 are priced much more fairly and likely enjoy a lower rate of piracy due to the fair pricing. (don't get me wrong, I KNOW they are being pirated)
Another example are some of the deals on Steam. Those game packs can offer lots of games at a great price.

I don't think people nessisarily want to pirate a game but do you really want to risk buying Duke Nukem Forever at a full price? Probably not...
Poor quality games (I believe) are more likely to experience a higher piracy rate.

I have friends that used to pirate stuff non-stop. Now we've all got jobs and just buy the games we want we are just more careful about picking the best ones.
As for movies we use Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and rentals from XBox, vudu, redbox and PS3 so no need to pirate there...
For music we use ivave.com (dirt cheap, high quality MP3's)

Risk is at 0 when you don't pirate.
I encourage you all to use cheap alternatives instead of piracy.

Stop this Drama. There is no way to Explain to a uninformed person why and how piracy works.
Its like trying to explain to your dog that he can ue the toilet. And Those who blame Poor quality games on piracy, there are still many great games coming out every year, they are just from small studios, with small budget, and no means to advertise their products. This is where searching for them yourself comes in.

If you want to bitch about how bad the world is, be my guest, but i like to spend that time more in looking for good games (Amnesia, Witcher 2, Tribes Ascend are some examples for me).

If people want to buy call of duty number 200, medal of honor "WarCreatureFighter" and other stuff like that, its their money, so be my guest, but please, dont try to tell us (PC gamers) where our problem is if you are not a PC gamer as well. Its like a biologist talking about quantum mecanics...

We are supposed to be helping each other here guys, not trying to prove who is smarter.

On a side note, i do agree prices are way off. I agree to pay 60 Euros for a game that is Baldurs Gate long. But NO WAY im paying 60 Euros for a 4-6 hour gameplay game. I mean... come on, you get with 60 Euros on steam right now, go for the best deals and you can end up with 20 games, each 10 hour long. So, 200 hours, WOW...

Then you can get Oblivion, or skyrim, for 60 Euros, and you still get 200+ hours of gameplay. So in this case, yes, fair deal.
But paying 60 E for a call of duty? well, not for me at least. Besides, you can always bitch about piracy, but you will find out that Great games sell well even years later (there are still copies of Broodwar, Baldurs gate, Crysis 1, etc getting sold).

If you want to know how good a game is, look at how long it takes for the price to drop. (For example, now in Poland, dragon age II is cheaper than Dragon Age 1, and i think most of us know why).
