Memory card help!!!

I inserted my memory card in my phone but it said memory full and would not let me take pictures or record anything why?
Plz help:-(

Inserting it isn't quite enough. You have to tell the system it's there so go into Settings>Storage and scroll down to Mount external SD Card.

On my phone I went to settings but their is no storage only
Phone settings
Call settings
Connectivity
Security and restore default.

From what I can tell, the system is developed by the vendor. Maybe there's something in Phone settings.

That spec also says there's an 8GB micro SD Card included in the package - did you remove that to put in a larger capacity card?

I asked my mum she don't remember as it was my mom's phone but also tried it in my big bros phone it doesn't work there as well

It's technically possible that they limited the SD Card reading system to 8GB. Is your brother's 'phone the same make and model?
