Mic and music doing weird things

Don't know where to put this but.. here goes... I like to skype friends while I play music, however, recently I've noticed that when I play music, from Spotify or YouTube, my Blue Yeti volume lowers a lot. If the music or video is paused, the people on the other end of the call will hear me just fine but as soon as I turn on the music or video they can barely hear me.

Right click the speaker icon in the lower right screen corner.

Select "Recording devices". In the Sound window select your microphone.

Click the Properties button and go to the Advanced tab.

Check the settings - Exclusive Mode in particular.

However, no harm in exploring the other tabs and available configuration settings. Could be some other setting involved as well.

Only change one thing at a time and keep notes should you need to reverse some change.

Try some other headsets if possible and try your Blue Yeti on another system.

Determine if the problem stays with your system or follows the headset.
