My PC and nahimic audio driver are recognizing that I am plugging in a mic, but when I talk into it, nothing happens. But when the mic comes into contact with something it shows. I have tried plugging the mic into the motherboard, and the case jacks, but nothing seems to work.

I have speakers plugged into the motherboard on the back if that matters.

Solution

Can you see the microphone when you go to the sound panel in the recording tab? Windows key+sound and in the audio control panel go to the recording tab and see if the mic is there. Check to see if it isn't disabled and verify the microphone volume isn't turned down if you find your mic in there sound...

If you only see activity when the microphone is touched it sounds like the volume is set too low.

Have you looked in Microphone settings and try turning up the boost or volume?
Is the microphone turned all the way down in the Windows volume mixer?

Click on the volume button in the bottom right tray on the Windows task bar, then click mixer. It will also show the microphone and anything that it picks up by showing movement in the bar that goes up and down.

It's not showing the mic in the Mixer, but it's showing up in audio devices?

I have both the boost and volume maxed out and I still can't see the microphone in the mixer. People in-game say my mic is super quiet and staticy but I have both volumes maxed.

Check to see if it isn't disabled and verify the microphone volume isn't turned down if you find your mic in there sound control panel. Clicking on the mic should bring up settings. Don't worry about the mic not being in the taskbar mixer sometimes it's not there. Have a look through those settings.

If manually configuring it in sound control panel doesn't help I would reinstall the nahimic audio drivers.
