Hi, I have an Asus X552CL-SX075D that has only one combo jack. Because I wanted a pair of headphones that has TRRS (so it picks up the mic and the audio ), I bought A4Tech Bloody G500. Until a while ago, the mic was working fine, but after a while it stopped working, and rarely starting to work fine. I thought that the windows was the problem, so I went from windows 10 to windows 7, but since I installed windows 7 I couldn't make the microphone work at all.

PS: I tried voice test through Steam, and if I press the mute button, I hear a click like the one when I press the mute button. It might be the drivers since windows 7 doesn't auto-install drivers. I installed most of the drivers using a program, but I'm not sure if I installed all of them. I would like some directions(like driver links that might solve the problem).

Solution
Windows 7 isn't supported on your laptop model (Asus has not released any Windows 7 drivers for it):
https://www.asus.com/Notebooks/X552CL/HelpDesk/

So you need to deal with that issue first by reverting to Windows 10 (eg by using Factory Restore).

Then when you've got that sorted, post your mic problem on a new thread.

Tip for the future: Always check driver availability before you change the OS.
