Microphone Poor Quality

I recently purchased the Razer Kraken 7.1 V2's (USB headset) and was expecting them to work great, however, on my computer, the microphone quality is very muffled and just bad. I tried it on my laptop and the microphone sounded fine, so I realized it was a computer problem. I then checked in my PC to find that on my MSI Z370 Pro motherboard, the HD Audio cable had been connected incorrectly to the JAUD1 connector, and was off by two prongs. I fixed it and just in case disconnected and reconnected all of the connectors just to find that the microphone still sounds very bad. Does anybody know anything that could help? Or experienced a problem similar to mine? Please, I'm desperate for answers.

So I built my PC and incorrectly connected the HD audio cable to the JAUD1 port on my MSI Z370 Pro. I noticed my microphone quality was very poor when plugged into my computer but not my friends. I own the Razer Kraken 7.1 V2’s and they are connected by USB. Because of the poor quality, I looked inside of my case and noticed that the HD Audio cable was 2 prongs off of the JAUD1 port so I moved it to the correct spot and rebooted my computer just to find that the microphone is still very bad quality. I’ve disconnected and reconnected all of the cables in my motherboard and the microphone is still not working well. Any ideas?
