[citation][nom]7amood[/nom]LOL... i thought they had full-HD...thank god I don't own a 360...PS3 FTW...[/citation]

most ps3 games don't support 1080p anyway, so dont start saying that it's so much better than the 360. And for the record, my only console at home is a ps3.

at least we D0 have...

[citation][nom]Zoonie[/nom]Here I was, thinking MS actually would let us use our own 2.5" HD's.. Damn it.[/citation]

Well, you still can, provided it's at one of their official sizes and you don't mind flashing it.

Nobody can say ps3 or 360 are better with resolutions. BOTH have games below 720p, both have 720p, both have 1080i/p games. (native resolutions)

Here's the reality with the PS3, most games are cross platform, developers develope titles to the lowest common denominator, i.e. the XBox360 at 720P, so most cross platform titles will be 720P until MS supports 1080P in their titles as default, good luck with that in the current console.

Not sure what you mean, but from this article I suspect that the Xbox 360 has a lock that won't allow games to render at 1080i/p -- up until now. As I understood it, the 360 would render in 720P then either it or the TV upscales it to 1080i/1080p.

erm... YOu are SO wrong in so many ways.. So you are telling me the fact that tittles like GhostBusters who are noticably lower in quality and reolution, and other crossplatform that are by at least 95% performing worst on the PS3 its cause they are limited from the 360 development? lol.. You make so lil sence. I really dont think they have a problem to use different resolution for each version of the game. Its not like the PS3 titles in development are any similar to the 360. Its like you are telling me that the PC titles are even harder for them to release cause of the resolutions or something? are we serious now? 😵 Doesnt take a sientist you know..

Dude.. I hoped the same thing lol. Sucks, I know.[citation][nom]7amood[/nom]LOL... i thought they had full-HD...thank god I don't own a 360...PS3 FTW...[/citation]

Do a research and find how many games on BD are over 720p for the PS3 you tard lol... Why are the ignorant Sony fans so out there when they post anywhere?

MY OPINION ARTICLE RELATED: So this means that not only titles might look even better but also can be tweaked to adjust performance/quality now. Freedom was alwaysa good thing no matter on what and where huh.

I was wondering why I couldn't tell the difference between 720P and 1080P on my ASUS VH242 23.6". I thought it was either the Xbox 360 or my HDMI cable--so I hooked up my PS3 using the same cable and the PS3 had a sharper/clearer 1080P image on my monitor. I'm hoping for a firmware update to fix the blurry images at 1080p on the 360.

[citation][nom]The_Blood_Raven[/nom]Yeah well my PC runs at full 1080p, bitches![/citation]
Ok, but how many games run crash-free or without having to install a dozen patches over it's life? I prefer PC's but it requires more work to be a PC gamer.

People are confusing the real rendered resolution with the upscaled resolution. Upscaling can improve graphics slightly but the ps3 uses the cheaper billinear algorithm (which is less sharp) whereas the 360 uses a lanczos resize which gives much better results

the real rendered resolution of some games:
Bioshock PS3 runs at 1200x675 vs 1280x720 for the Xbox 360.
GTA IV runs at a resolution of 630p (1120 x 630) on the PS3, Xbox 360 720p (1280 x 720) resolution.
Ghostbusters has native resolution of 960x540 on ps3. That's a massive gulf in detail level compared to the native 720p (1280x720)on the 360.
Halo 3 runs at 1152 x 640
MGS4 runs at 1024x768

Crash free? Never had a game crash since 2004, on my PS2...(vice city)
Install a dozen patches? Usually 3 max, but thats hardly a price to pay considering better graphics for about every pc game out there if you have the supported hardware.
Oh and how about firmware updates for consoles? Id consider that a patch 😛
Although to boost your argument, I do have to reformat once or twice a year along with keeping the pc clean so that nothing does crash. That and a pc with hardware thats all perfectly compatible (no bsod's ever) but thats not JUST for games, thats for everything else I do with my pc as well :)

Good. I'm sure owners of higher resolution displays will appreciate that. Of course, if you want to game with a high res, I say build ( or at least buy ) a gaming PC 😀.

Does that mean they are removing the minimum? I mean, can they develop 480i games on the 360 now? (not that anyone would do it... but it could be funny to watch people buy the game anyways.)
