I'm still wondering how anyone could actually read the description and requirements for any game on XBox Live Marketplace while attempting to view it on a SDTV.

Despite being a disabled veteran living on the pittance I get from the VA, I still manage to have two 720p HDTV (52" and 60") sets that cost me less than $150 each. Just prowl Craigslist for old burned out DLP sets for free or very close to it and spend $80-$90 on Amazon for a replacement bulb and you have a like-new hi-def display for your XBox or PS3 that will easily provide several years more service until it needs another $80 bulb.

As someone who used to do tech support for XBL, it makes me laugh how many people directly blame Microsoft for this game's shortcomings. While maybe it should have been indicated in the game's description, you can hardly blame them for the developer's fault. As for the refunds thing, that's just standard Microsoft policy. Marketplace refunds are both noted as non refundable in an agreement you ALL signed, but are literally impossible for a support agent without supervisor override, which you can only do if the problem literally prevents you from playing the game (can't complete the download, downloaded content is corrupted or unsuable), not because a feature isn't working. Maybe you should do a little research like a smart consumer instead of rushing out to buy something.

I find it funny how a good portion of these posters ignore how screwed the economy is.

Not everyone has the luxury of an HDTV, much less a life without living paycheck to paycheck.

[citation][nom]Integr8d[/nom]Agreed. I'm astounded by how many people here think CRT = standard def... My Sony 34XBR960 was a 200lbs, Super Fine Pitch CRT with industry leading black levels, HDMI input and would scale anything up to 1080i with amazement. Plasma didn't catch up, until the Pioneer Kuro Elites. LCD still sucks the wang in black points. My 30" Unity Motion CRT was spec'd by Joe Kane on the ATSC board. How many CRT's would drive all 13 formats of broadcast HDTV (including 720P)? One.Currently rocking a JVC RS25 onto a 110" screen. 50,000:1 native contrast at 14fL, dialed in with a Photo Research PR670... Lol Plasma, LCD. Noobs just don't know.[/citation]

I miss my crt; i had high hopes for sed tv's but thanks to patent trolling we have lcd's now.

[citation][nom]bavman[/nom]Who even owns a non-hd tv now a days?[/citation]
Feel free to buy me a 46~55" 120Hz LCD from Samsung. I'll send you a PM with a routing number to deposit into my account.

Some of us have bills, kids and other things to BUY first. Yeah, I still have perfectly working 32" and 27" Samsung & SONY TVs that are 12 / 20 years old. My SONY is still one of the best tube TVs ever built. Its picture is excellent.

Do I want HDTV? Yes. But I want at least a 55" 120Hz TV... because WIDE Screen 16:9 TVs are sooo narrow, a 32" HDTV feels smaller than my 27" tubeTV. By all means, I like widescreen movies. I see them at $1000~1200.

What bugs me is that *I* know that whatever HDTV I buy in the next few months to a year (with extended warranty) will most likely NOT live to see 5~7 years. I suspect my tubes can outlive them. I have no place to store them - so they will have to go to criags/recycle center. And when the HDTV breaks down every year or so... I'm going to be pissed.

Some of my clients are TV Repair shops. Yeah, todays high-tech TVs are not very repairable... just a few parts... and they tend to break down frequently. They are NOT up to quality of tube TVs.

Then... when does 4K come out? 70~100" TVs need 4K.

If Golden Eye could do it on an N64, why can't Minecraft on an XB360? Not that it affects me any, If people don't have an HDTV, they can buy a set of cables to make use of their computer monitor as a cheaper alternative I suppose.

[citation][nom]blazorthon[/nom]I'd rather pick up a high resolution CRT than any other display tech monitor or TV. They'll last twenty to forty years and still look great, but most current LCDs, plasmas, and LEDs will last five years, if you're lucky. Am I a retard for not wanting an LCD HDTV?Besides, like several other posts say, not everyone can get an HDTV, regardless of it's display technology.M$ should have stated clearly that Minecraft required an HDTV if it requires an HDTV. M$ didn't, so buyers who don't have an HD resolution are pissed. This is M$'s fault and those people should get their money back.[/citation]

From my understanding its business they don't last long. So its not the technology's fault it breaks it's just company who made it. LCD's and Plasmas could last just as long. You say they'd look great in 20 - 40 years but a TV from the 1990s would look terrible today. Also they are bulky. Here in the UK I think the Sales of Goods Act gives us 6 years to have a fault fixed free of charge.

But I agree with it being Microsoft's duty to offer refunds and put it in the description on the game.

How can these guys afford to buy games on xbox, but not a $100 unbranded TV? It only takes deciding not to buy a few releases immediatly or selling old games you no longer need to afford that...
