No one is going to buy it. It's going to be a failure. At $150, you may as well buy a Wii. It's going to be useless for 95% of games on 360. And the rare game that does implement some special feature for it won't be practical and it will just be gimmicky. At best, it will be used for party games. It's just a fancier EyeToy. At least with the Wii, you get a full catalog of games built around motion control at a decent price. And the control scheme is adaptable to pretty much any type of game.

I predicted it would fail way back when it was announced and everyone got mad at me. Slowly but surely, I'm being proven right.

[citation][nom]hellwig[/nom]Natal's biggest flaw is the mobility of the user. Since you have to move your whole body for Natal, this might be a problem. Anyone with a non-standard body shape, or people who have limited mobility will have issues. I can't imagine Natal is going to be able to properly detect people in a wheel chair, nor people missing a limb. The simplicity of Wii, while not perfect, still allows some limited use of the Wii Motion sensor to those individuals. I mean, I can see the commercial now, 3 able-bodied friends playing the latest Monkey Ball rip-off on the 360, while their fourth, wheel-chair bound friend sits to the side, unable to participate. Seriously, that single image getting out to the general public would not only kill Natal, but possibly the entire XBox line. What's the new slogan? "X-Box 360, it ain't for cripples!"?[/citation]

This is a stupid comment. Are you seriously suggesting that something might fail because a relatively small percentage of the population can't play it? Did the Wii fail because some people have no use of their arms? No.

Do people do things every single day that requires every single appendage to do? Yes.

I mean seriously, if someone were missing just one arm, it would be ridiculously hard to play an xbox in the traditional fashion, with a controller that needs two hands.

Of course there are going to be limitations to the technology. Who the F*** cares? This type of thing is a huge step in gaming console technology and maybe in the future they will figure out a way to make it more handy cap accessible.

Why would I buy a Wii when I could spend an extra hundred bucks and get all of the Wii features, plus be able to play every other game I might enjoy. Just because someone enjoys playing motion games like Wii golf, doesn't mean they don't also enjoy playing games like L4D or CoD or something that is far superior on an 360.

I can't believe how much people are bashing this product and declaring it a failure before it has even launched.

[citation][nom]hillarymakesmecry[/nom]I'm glad you all know it's going to fail ahead of time. What if it's totally awesome and the $150 is justifiable? None of us have actually used it so calling it overpriced is a stretch.People on forums are sooooooooooo negative. Be happy people![/citation]

It's not that im being negative, but it's just that for $150... I can't just buy it to experiment with... cuz I'm really interested in seeing how this performs...but for $150... that's quite an ask.

[citation][nom]Kelavarus[/nom]$50? Really? At that price, it'd just be a steal. True, it's not a new console, but the amount of development and research that has gone into Natal warrants more than $50, methinks...[/citation]

Whatever dude...Microsoft was churning out rumors of a sub $90 Natal as late as the beginning of this year! Pachter predicted a $50 dollar Natal last October... and remember this gem:

They will definitely sell quit a few of these, but, typically, add-ons don't do very well. Personally, I think they are being overly optimistic about "millions and millions" of units very quickly selling. They will be stuck with a lot of inventory if they are wrong and "jump the gun" and mass produce them at those levels. Certainly, no one has a crystal ball, but, aside from the enthusiastic gamers on Tom's I just don't see the average person spending that much money in this economy.
