I purchased the microsoft wireless display adapter and found out it requires windows 8.1, I have a windows 7 computer, is their anything I can do?
Mine is working with Windows 7 using Intel WiDi. There is NO hardware requirement for Miracast (you can upgrade to 8.1), but WiDi requires that you have an Intel CPU with WiDi support, so far as I know.
Annoyingly, the bloody thing isn't working with Android, which is what I bought it for...

I have the same problem after I updated my ASUS Windows 7 laptop to Windows 10. Did you ever come up with a solution to use Miracast or another program with the adapter?
