I have been pretty pleased with the HP Mini 1000. It is a 10.1" Mini with a 16GB SSD. I am thinking of selling it though. I just don't use it enough to justify keeping it.

If you classify mini in terms of 10" screen size more or less, check out these: Asus eeePC, Acer Aspire One, Dell Inspirion Mini 12, BenQ Joybook Lite

The Dell mini-9 and one version of the HP1000 use an SSD. I think BestBuy sells that version of the HP1000, with WindowsXP and 10" screen. If you want an SSD then this would be a good unit to choose.

If you want something bigger and with a real processor, you might look at the small versions of the Dell Vostro or Latitude. They are a lot more money than a netbook though.

I think there is quite some confusion about what's the difference between mini and netbook. Most often this class of small laptops doesn't have CD-ROM/DVD and a low performance processor. It just isn't suitable as a normal business machine and rather good for on-the-go-surfing. I think a mini can't substitute a laptop, it's rather an addition.
