Decided to buy a Samsung c34f791 as the main monitor which supports 3440 x 1440 100hz through the HDMI 2.0 port or DP . (Type c port not available)

Need to buy a laptop to go with the monitor. what is the minimal graphics card to output 100hz?
(not a gamer, just general use, put still appreciate smooth transition animation above 60hz)
is laptop gtx 1050 Ti enough?

Thank you~

Well since you aren't going to be gaming refresh rate doesn't really matter. But yea 1050m can handle that resolution well.

EDIT 1: what is your budget for the laptop and what are you looking for in a laptop?

I used to consider Desktop + ultrabook setup, but I found it difficult to sync two systems.
I think 1200USD is what I can afford.
I have to compile stuff, so quad core CPU is preferred.
So I decided to go with the i7 7700HQ laptop.
High end graphic card is not mandatory since I don't play much game.
But driving a 3440*1440 monitor is required.
The monitor provides 100hz possibility, so it would be better if my laptop can do the same.

Thanks for the reply.
I think 1060 should suffice.
But I am just more curious about if 1050 Ti can deliver the 100Hz.
After all 1050 Ti laptops are about 250USD cheaper than 1060 laptops.
