Mixing different rechargeables

Ok this is probably what has me worrying most.

Suppose I'll get this 1850mAH charger from Energizer that comes with 2 batteries. If I got some 1700mAH [insert other brand name], and mixed the 2 here inside a 4-AA digicam, am I doing anything wrong?
What is recommended besides trying to match them always?
Additionally, is recharging them all at once, bearing different capacities, a risk?

All the digital cameras I've seen recommend not mixing different batteries.

So that would signify it's best to go for another set of Energizer ones.

set of 4 brand new batteries is less than $15 (am i wrong on that one?)

i'd say buy a whole new set of four, at 1800. and use the other two in other devices/items, surly you have other things that use rechargables like cd players or MD players etc...


and no recharging them all at once i don't think is an issue, it was my understanding at least that the chargers should be smart enough to tell LOL (i might be wrong)

Yeah Alltaken reminded me, is it safe to recharge different capacity rechargeables? Heck, how safe is it to let something already charged at full, inside the charger? Maybe I'm being too cautious, but I always have doubts.

A set of four in Canada is just not cheap. It's 15$ CDN for 2 of regular quality.
I'm already way over my budget for the digital camera's required bundle.

Recharge batteries in the recharger they are supposed to be charged in.

well my recharger turn soff when they are full


i ahve recharged a NiMH and a NiCAD battery in the charger at the same time


and both had wildly different chared levels also.



for NiMH batterys you require a special charger that can handle them, otherwise you will kill them.

then in theory you can leave them in as long as you want, and they shouldn't be damaged (the advantage of NiMH over Nicad is the lack of battery memory)


but make sure its a NiMH special charger, as they are designed to trickle charge.
