[citation][nom]hellraiser06[/nom]Ok. As far as the movie vs. COD goes, we should keep in mind that we have to buy 1 ticket each for the family, while we have to buy only one game per family. So, for a family of 4, movie price comes out to be about $60(including popcorn and soda). Not to mention, there are much more people willing to shell out for a movie than video gamers.[/citation]
This is true, but not every family goes to see a movie together, and we're not talking about popcorn and drinks. That's like saying everyone who bought MW2 bought an extra accessory. I see your point, though, about the fact that you only need one MW2 game per household. This is why you don't compare movies to video games. It's nearly impossible to measure. The best way for me to measure whether or not a game or movie has been a huge success is to determine whether or not it has become a household name. I guarentee you noone in my household has heard of MW2 except for me, and we're a family of 5. They ALL have heard of Harry Potter. So, whether or not the game has printed more money is really besides the point.
