I think "M" means missed, where "F" means failled. F affects your GPA, M does not.

I doubt she would change 98% to 99%. What's the point? The teacher probably made a mistake entering the data, and blames the mom now that the discrepency is found, after they reviewed all their data from the breach.

[citation][nom]southernshark[/nom]Are six felonies really justified for this?99.99 percent of the crooks on Wall Street have never been issued a ticket and never will be. But the cops destroy this woman...........[/citation]

I lay odds that "hack" has nothing to do with it. She had credentials or access that the school was unaware of.
If he/she were a hacker, she would have penetrated the network in a way that either left no evidence, or pointed to someone else (such as this lady). *wink*

Really? That sounds so stupid. We used to have "A+, A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, C, C-, D, E, F, M, Z", where M meant you just never went to class, never passed a test, Z meant you had some reason not to go to class and would get a refund, and between C- and F, you were a retard that would get kicked out of school pretty soon, unless your GPA stayed above 3, the required minimum to get a diploma.

Only four grades, M means merit? What has this world come to? No wonder our economy is doing so poorly.

VIA ABC news "She has been accused of changing her daughter's failing grade from an F to an M for "medical" in June 2010, and then changing her son's 98 to a 99 in February 2012, nearly a year after she quit her job as an administrative office secretary to work at another school district."

Still does not explain the 98% to 99% change...And why not change a bunch of other students so you wont get finger out so easily? Dumb Ass

Interesting reading about the "M" and "Z" grades. I'd never heard about them until today. When I first read the article, I thought the mother changed the "F - Female" to "M - Male" and it was just misreported as a grade change.

There are those of us who still believe that hacking into a school computer and change grades is a purely imaginary scenario straight out of Wargames.

It's actually pretty common in my experience, it's just rarely caught. When I was in school, their IT were horrible. Either that, or they just got some random people that said they know how to work with computers and hired them. I remember that rather than asking HOW I installed iTunes on the school PC, he was asking about the service "bonjour" that comes with iTunes. He thought it was something I installed to hack the school network just because it mentioned some network related processes in the user agreement.

I still remember using brute force to get the admin password so I could install Unreal Tournament. My Computer repair class was mostly just kids playing Unreal Tournament thanks to me. Good times.

Sassy is what most teachers seem to use for grades, and it's a pretty pathetic program to crack and update grades on, however this was a while back, things may have changed.
