More laptop questions!

My family is trying to buy two new laptops. We have narrowed it down somewhat to two contenders:

Acer Aspire 5750-6834
dual core i5 2430m 2.4 GHz (turbo boost to 3 GHz)
640 GB hardrive
6 GB DDR3

Asus X53E
quad core i7 2670M 2.2 GHz (turbo boost to 3.1 GHz)
750 GB Hardrive
6GB DDR3

As you can see, they are very similar. Which is better for work (multiple office suite programs and google chrome windows open simultaneously) and running games (emulated N64 and Minecraft)?
