Anyone else messed around with the Duron 1300's, with the morgan cores?

It's got 5 L1, and 4 L3 bridges. And graphite == no worky. Mechanical or *regular* 2B pencil. As in, no screen; no cpu registering if you close any of the L1's. The L7's are right were they are supposed to be, 1.75volts. I even went to far as to razor blade open one of the bridges of the L3.

No effect.

Which makes me think, what the holy hell is up with this? I'm hesitant to do any more "permanent mods" to it until someone getz the bridges figured out.

Even though the boyz in the lab couldn't unlock it, so I was just wondering if anyone else has even played with them at all.

sorry, didn't understand very well, did you even touch the L7 and L3 bridges?

To unlock the Duron you just need to work with the L1 Bridges.

=)

You haven't seen one with the Morgan cores. Or at least, not the one I'm talking about.

I have a 1100 MHz Morgan UNLOCKED with the pencil….

Anyway, why you don’t try the XP procedure to close the bridges?

Yeah, but do you have 5 L1 bridges, and 4 L3 bridges?

They are using a different process, and I'm not sure it's coded into the bridges anymore. Or at least, it's not in the L1's or the L3's. There's no pit, and the laser cuts are super tiny. Much smaller than Athlon 850 cuts are/were.

I've yet to sit down a mess around with it a lot. If it was a process of trial and error, I'd be on it like flint. But hell, I can't even unlock a couple of the multipliers. The machine won't even post if I close anything, so I know the graphite is making contact. If I close a single (or hell, all of them) L1 bridge, the machine won't post. I've cut one L3 bridge, with absolutely no difference. I closed it with graphite afterwards, and still no effect.

But at 1300, with a 100fsb, the multiplier is at 13. So you know it can be "underclocked", and it's not "overclocking" that's locking up the machine. If I could just make some kind of change in the multiplier, I'd have a starting place. But I don't have the time, right now at least, to close a bridge/put on heatsink/test/pull off heatsink/close bridge/put heatsink on/test/pull off heatsink/open bridge, close bridge/put heatsink on/test.

Those bastards that do the heatsink tests, or play games with the drivers and os's; that takes some time.

I'm telling ya'll.

The 1300 Morgan core is different...

My bad.

After reading a little bit found this:
Overclocking: AMD Puts A Clamp On The Multiplier?

This could be the reason of your problems, however at http://www.overclockers.com at the CPU database there is one guy with an unlocked Morgan 1300 (1420 MHz 10x142)

Yeah. I looked at both of those.

Those people that posted on Overclockers were just posting numbers. That much is obvious to me, so I just laughed that no one else has caught it yet and left it alone.

And the guyz at the Labs obviously didn't have time to d!ck around with it either. I doubt they tried everything, which means it still might be in the bridges.
