motherboard supports max 256 GB SSD?

I chatted with HP support and they said the HP ENVY x360 - 15-w100nd supports max a 256 GB SSD. I never heard of such a limitation based on disk size but they insisted it was so.

I want to install a 500 GB SSD, do you think I should try it anyways? (I still have to buy the SSD)

Hi,

There should be no limitation to how much SSD storage size you want to install in your laptop.

Here's the complete technical specification of your laptop and again it doesn't say anything about limitation of storage size you can install.

I don't think it would even be possible for the machine to have a physical limitation, but hey I've been wrong before! I'd give it a shot

IT depends if the how the bios is setup , it could limit down to 256gb . So it would only use a small proportion if you use a bigger drive .
