Crappy, overdone ad, certainly not the best super-bowl ad I've seen, no humor and those graphics are too epic for a tablet 2/10

How could it offer 1080p who's real resolution is 1920 X 1080 if the resolution of the device is 1280 X 800? Even if they really mean "playback" meaning that it can crunch 1080p content and displaying it at the device's native resolution its still deceptive advertising. I still don't get what the craze is about tablets yet. I've yet to see something being done on a tablet that's so much better to do than on a regular light portable notebook.

The screen of the device displays 1200 x 800. The capability of the device for video playback is 1920 x 1080. If the device is connected to a display that has capability of displaying 1080p then the tablet can produce a 1080p resolution on that display.

All manufacturers do this kind of marketing. Apple for example states that the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch have 720p playback capability, yet none of these devices can show a 720p video on the device screen without resizing the image.

You don't need 1920 x 1080 resolution on a 10 inch screen, but having it capable of playing back such video means you can plug it into any 1080p monitor and play your HD videos at that monitors full resolution without lag.

As for this ad, is this really going to be shown during the superbowl? It looks more like something created by some guy on the internet than an add Motorola would shell out millions for a minute long commercial block during the most expensive advertising time ever. Even a 30 second commercial block is extremely expensive, but a minute? Maybe towards the end of the game when half of the viewers have turned the game off....

This ad is not at all high quality, I was expecting something epic to rival Apple's original 1984 ad but this is a joke, in fact it's more of a rip on Motorola for being so cheap with their marketing budget to produce such a crap ad than it is a rip on Apple. That's if they are dumb enough to shell out the millions for this to run during the superbowl, I would have spent more money on a 30 second ad that is of better quality.

Keep in mind during the entire 60 second clip this ad doesn't even show the product, major marketing no no which is why I don't believe for a second this is real. Effective ads don't just throw out product specs, nobody wants to read when watching an advertisement.

Kinda sad Tom's didn't even confirm if this is indeed an advertisement from Motorola. I don't mind the frequent article typos, but could we get some basic journalism here? Is that really too much to ask for?

This is NOT the final ad. It's been confirmed on Engadget. You'll have to wait until the Superbowl to see the official commercial (most likely 30 seconds)

I saw comparison of XOOM with iPad2 (http://www.tabletpccomparisonreviews.com/ipad2-vs-motorola-xoom-comparison/). I really like this one.
