[citation][nom]beayn[/nom]No, he's saying in his real world tests, IE performs better for him. That was the point of his whole message. "Testing" your browser on synthetic benchmarks doesn't mean it will perform best on all the sites you or your family go to. Would you buy a car based on its handling inside a closed and perfectly smooth track designed specifically for that car, or would you take it out for a test drive in areas and on roads that you are used to?[/citation]
Do you even understand anything about Flash under the hood? According to your post you don't. Why don't you look up how it works and maybe then you will see what I meant.........

[citation][nom]otacon72[/nom]Who cares about HTML5... I care about real web pages when I visit them. On my computer Chrome sucks, FF crashes with Flash ALL the time...IE9 is as fast as FF so I'll be sticking with IE9.[/citation]
Who cares about HTML5? You have any idea what it is? LOL

IMHO, Mozilla should "Zip it" until they can solve the unusual ram usage figure that kick into play when Firefox is used for a long time w/o restarting the PC (let's say about 2-3 days). At least, I haven't found a problem with IE's Release Candidate. While it's true that IE doesn't have a session manager (Which I consider to be of vital importance), remember that Firefox or Chrome also don't have that feature w/o add-ons. Also, Chrome is still crashing too much for my liking. But, at least, Google has remained silent about their opinion in MS IE 9.

And i'll use Firefox RC1 when it doesn't crash every 20 mins. You'd think after 123198 beta's i wouldn't need to be told update your graphics drivers it's your fault our browser crashes.

geez man your PC must be really messed if firefox RC1 is crashing every 20 mins. i have been using it since beta 6 and hasn't crashed on me once.

Firefox is a joke ! I have the feeling that lots of Mozilla fanboys actually never try anything else before they express their opinion. My experience of FF is that it is the most resources consuming browser I tested. Security was no way better than with a correctly patched IE although it's mozilla's main marketing argument.
I love the opera GUI and its speed. For me, it offers the nicest browsing experience. Unfortunately, several web applications (they are badly designed I have to admit) I need for my work don't work correctly with Opera and my bank doesn't even support the opera browser in its netbanking application. Chrome does better in that respect but misses some nice features of Opera.
Still, at the end of the day, I end up using IE8 because it is the most versatile browser allowing me to use every website I try to go to, in a decent way.
IE9's beta versions were a complete disaster on my PC but that's what beta versions are for (it was unusable, frooze often, couldn't display websites correctly), but I must say that the RC works fine now and I can use it on a daily basis (with the Chrome as backup for a few websites). IE9 looks fine with it's minimalistic GUI and it is way faster than it's predecessors. Something also seems to have changed in the way the fonts are rendered, it looks neater than what used to be...

i never am an exclusive browser user. right now i'm using chrome as my main browser along with IE and FF. other days, it was FF. and then IE.
there are even times when i use all 3 at the same time.
unlike with OS, i don't see any need to stick with just one browser.

Who cares about rendering speed, really? Oh boy, a page loaded 0.000125 seconds faster under X than Y. Whoopdie-doo!!!

How about discussing metrics that actually matter, like security and expandability?

Microsoft now has four browsers. That's four totally different engines that render pages totally different from one another. I have to test for each, then create browser conditionals to handle all the stupid problems in each iteration. Enough Microsoft! Get out of the browser business NOW! Nobody likes you crappy software!

Firefox FTW! Chrome FTW! Safari FTW!

I use Chrome most of the time. It's simpler and faster that makes it better than the rest. If you're into using a lot of plugins then by all means, go with FF as everybody else. IE9? SeLdom, only for business things.

Ah, the bashing begins. When you browser has been in beta for longer than anyone can imagine, being beaten to the market by the arch rival you once swore to defeat must sting.

What do you expect? It IS put out by a marketing dept. afterall. It's kinda their job to make exaggerated claims about their products to sell more.

Great only person that cares about your totally anal post is you. now take it else ware and yank the stick from your ass.. (sorry since you had to waste my time with your totally moronic post i figured i would go the full 10 and make a equally waste of time response that has as much to do with this article as your original post.

Anyways on topic here ill judge the browsers html5 performance once the standard is finished. For now i could care less since the two browsers i use IE9 and opera don't seen to have any issues on any sites i goto.

[citation][nom]Anonymous[/nom]IE is junk and has always been junk. Anyone who uses it probably doesn't know what a web browser is. the Internet is just that little E symbol on the task bar, you know that thing when you click on the flag on the bottom left? Yeah that one.[/citation]

this level of ignorance is hard to argue with. its just flawed in so many ways. you have made this exact same ignorant post in a couple other threads in what seems to be a simple copy paste. It sucks your blind but that doesn't mean something is garbage because it does not support blind use. It simply means its not so great for you :)
