MS Office without security updates

I have an excellent antivirus and firewall; will I have security risks if I keep using MS Office 2003 after it is "end of life" (and security updates cease) April 2014?

I can't afford to upgrade unless I have to.

Obviously as time goes by your putting yourself at more risk to being vulnerable.

I cant imagine for the first 6 months - 1 year that it will be much of a big issue.

Just make sure you are fully patched up to the point where they stop releasing updates.
