MSI GT72 DVD boot up

Hello. I have a MSI GT72 dominator laptop (the 2QD with 2 SSDs in RAID 0, and the GTX 970M). I want to boot to a DVD, but whenever I start up the PC and have the BIOS set to boot up to the CD/DVD option, it does not work, and it instead goes to the BIOS. The only reason I can think of is that the DVD may have been burned at a faster speed than the internal drive can read (the DVD was burned in a different drive than the one in my laptop), so I tried burning an entirely new ISO image on to a new DVD using the laptops drive in hopes that it might solve the issue. Unfortunately, that did not work, and it again goes to the BIOS instead of booting to the new DVD. Any suggestions? thanks in advance.

The only way i have found to boot to the cd rom on my MSI GT60 is to change boot mode from UEFI to Legacy
