MultiTouch not working on HTC desire

Anyone perhaps can guess the reason why this is the case?

I had this problem, turns out it was swype killing multitouch
if you are using swype (which rocks apart from this bug) try change your input method to something else then see if it works again
doesn't happen all the time, a restart will fix it and multi touch will work with swype, but seems to kick in after changing input methods, then changing back to swype
