I own a gaming laptop but the mobile graphics card is quite outdated (geforce 630m) and i was wondering if an eGPU would be possible on the MXM port where the current graphics card is. i have 8gb ddr3 ram that is upgradable to 16gb and an i7-3610-QM (2.3ghz). and its about 4 years old. i have no hardware problems other than clogged up dust (i want to clean it but i really need to get propper tools for that and a good guide because im really afraid of damaging it, but thats not why im here). so to get back to the point,

    1. would it be possible to hook op an eGPU to the MXM port

    2. would this be the best way to hook up an eGPU?(i am assuming this since its designed for graphic cards but im really not sure)

    3. would it be benneficial to do this and build my own computer later so i can move the eGPu into a real desktop?

the MxM port is designed to change the laptop gpu
the mxm gpu cost ? i dont know
try google and / or Youtube for information changing mxm gpu
i think is not profitable or possible re-using old e-gpu on Desktop pc ...............................

i dont think you really get my question, i dont want my laptop gpu on my desktop, i want a desktop gpu on my laptop using an external gpu setup, and i was asking if it would be possible to hook that gpu up to the mxm port and remove the current laptop gpu completely. and my current videocard is the best that i can get for the MXM port i have.
